Playstation 3 fans of Mass Effect 3’s multiplayer can rejoice. After what was described on the BioWare blog as a close working relationship with Sony, BioWare will be able to roll out the multiplayer commendation packs that PS3 players had missed out on. As an olive branch to the fans, BioWare announced that the two previous packs – Operation Goliath and Operation Raptor – will be available for download, free of charge.

The newest event, Operation Silencer, begins this weekend; starting Friday, May 11th, at 8:00PM EST and concluding on Monday, May 14th, at 8:00PM EST. BioWare listed the following goals and rewards featured in the event:

  • Allied Goal: Kill 3,000,000 Banshees.
  • Successful completion of the allied goal will grant all players a Victory Pack.
  • Squad Goal: Survive until full extraction on any map against any enemy on gold difficulty.
  • Successful completion of the squad goal will grant all squadmates a Commendation pack.
