Orcs Must Die! Unchained Update Adds New Hero and Halloween Themed Map

October 14, 2014

Robot Entertainment has updated their fortress siege game, Orcs Must Die! Unchained, today with plenty of spooky new content right before Halloween.

Most exciting of these changes is the brand new hero, Ancestor. This undead mage can damage enemies by stealing their health, which he then turns into more health for himself and his team members, making him a unique addition to any team.

The three-lane Highlands map has also been tweaked, letting players battle with extra minions and traps. Three new hero skins have also been added in the form of Lumbering Jack Hogarth, Tutu D’Loo Blackpaw and Flower Friend Ivy. In addition, the Frightfully Delightful Sorceress and Scared-Crow War Mage skins will be able for free for a limited time to players. To cap everything off, players can look forward to battling their friends in a special Halloween version of the popular two-lane map, Cliffside Clash.

I had a lot of fun getting play Orcs Must Die! Unchained at expos earlier in the year, having a vibe that is a sort of mix of the best elements of Orcs Must Die! 2, Team Fortress 2 and Dota 2 into one entertaining package. The game is creeping closer to an expected launch later this year, but those who want to check it out now can become a founder at the official game website to gain closed beta access and copies of the first two games of the series.
