It's time to delve into the Orewllian deep state and fake news; German developer Osmotic Studios revealed that the first episode of Orwell's second season -- titled Orwell: Ignorance is Strength -- will be heading to PC's next week. Even better, we have the full release schedule for the three-part series, so players won't have to wait very long at all.

Revealed earlier today via a date reveal trailer, Orwell: Ignorance is Strength will be available on February 22, 2018. As noted in previous reporting, the second season of Orwell will focus more on fake news, social media echo chambers, and how that works to strengthen Big Brother. Players are tasked with uncovering the truth underneath the fake news to see what is spurring civil unrest -- the information, of course, puts you directly at odds with the broader top-secret nature of the government and your position in it.

Unlike the first season of OrwellOrwell: Ignorance is Strength implements a new "time of day" system that will give unique encounters and tasks based on the temporal location in the setting. Of course, more time investigating comes with the added risk of being caught. On top of that, the game reportedly features a much darker tone than the original with more imminent threats and real-world allusions.

While Orwell: Ignorance is Strength's first episode (titled Thesis) is set to release for PC on February 22, 2018, the other episodes (Antithesis and Synthesis) will launch every other week, on March 8 and March 22 respectively.

Orwell's first season -- titled Orwell: Keeping an Eye on You -- released in October 2016 exclusively for PC. As compared to Ignorance is Strength, you played as Big Brother in an attempt to thwart continued terrorist attacks by rebels through investigating citizens.

As mentioned above, Orwell: Ignorance is Strength's first episode Thesis launches on February 22, 2018. Check out the story-heavy date reveal trailer as well as the screenshots below:
