How to Use Sound Effects in Roblox

In order to add any sound effect to your game in Roblox Studio, you either need to know its name or Roblox ID. There are two ways to add a sound effect to your game: (Thanks, CyberCreator!)

Toolbox:

  • In the Toolbox window on the left side of the screen select "Audio" as the file type and then search for the name of the song or sound effect you want to use in the game.

Explorer:

  • In the Explorer menu on the right side of the screen collapse the Workspace category. Now click on the "plus" icon next to the object you want to save the sound effect in. Choose "Sound" from the pop-up menu and select it.
  • Now, head to the Properties menu below the Explorer window and look for the Sound ID box. Type the Roblox ID of your favorite sound effect in this format: rbxassetid://Insert the ID here
  • If you write the code correctly, you will be able to play the sound effect.
