In an article published over the weekend, Japanese developer Idea Factory announced that the Nintendo Switch port of otome visual novel Wand Of Fortune R will be released in Japan on May 18 this year. Originally released for the PlayStation Vita, Wand Of Fortune R is the fourth game in the Wand Of Fortune series, which up until now has resided exclusively on PlayStation systems.

Like Amnesia, Code:Realize, and Collar X Malice before it, Wand Of Fortune R will be yet another Nintendo Switch port of a PlayStation Vita title from Idea Factory's back catalog. At launch, the game will be digitally and physically available to purchase in Japan.

In addition to the base digital and physical editions, fans will also be able to preorder a special edition of Wand Of Fortune R for 9,900 yen (approx. $76). In the style of previous special editions by Idea Factory, this special edition will feature six illustrated character cards as well as a special booklet.

Both the special physical edition and the standard physical edition (7,700 yen - approx. $60) will come packaged with a sleeve case showcasing the art of the Wand Of Fortune series. At the time of writing, preorders for both physical editions of the game have opened, and fans can reserve a copy through CD Japan, Play-Asia, and other online stores.

In Wand Of Fortune R, players will don the wand and magic robes of Lulu, a supremely talentless wizard in training. With no veritable magical ability, Lulu is sent to the Mills Clare Magic Institution, where she is expected to find her magical talent before graduation. As per the otome genre, fans can expect Wand Of Fortune R to weave a rich, cerebral plot across several possible romances, each one offering Lulu a particular beau to get to know and, ultimately, date.

Idea Factory also announced on the same day that the upcoming Nintendo Switch port of otome visual novel Princess Arthur will be released on May 25 this year, a week after Wand Of Fortune R. Originally released on the PlayStation Portable, the Nintendo Switch port of Princess Arthur will be accompanied by a special edition of its own, containing character cards and a special booklet in the same style as that of Wand Of Fortune R. All physical editions of Princess Arthur will also include a limited edition artbook first released with the limited edition of the game on PSP.
