Team17, the publisher behind the Overcooked titles has just pushed live a new trailer for a free Overcooked 2 update that is slated to be "Coming Soon". Although, there's no information on what it will contain, let alone when it actually lands. However, I think I have an idea. You can find the trailer below which shows off a new type of location, with fish in the stream, and a wok. A chef runs across the water carrying a plate of what looks like it could possibly be grapefruit, peaches, nectarines, who knows!? It's being carried by a pig chef though, and then the logo comes in announcing that a free update is coming soon.

There's not been any information online suggesting the specifics of this update except that something new is on the way. My guess is that this is related to Chinese New Year seeing as the art style of the logo's background fits the art style of Chinese art and the event colors. Chinese New Year starts next week on February 5. Additionally, with it being the year of the pig, that would explain the pig chef. Oink.

Of course, this content update will be coming after Kevin's Christmas Cracker update which was also free and brought new locations, chefs, and recipes. Prior to the actual launch of Kevin's Christmas Cracker, Team 17 had teased the free Christmas update in an incredibly similar way. The teaser was released 4 days before the update went live across all available platforms.

So, if that information is anything to go by, and history repeats itself, I'd expect this free update to drop within the next week. If it is Chinese New Year related, then I'd expect it to land before Tuesday. As usual, I'd also assume we're seeing new chefs, locations, and recipes to get busy with in the game. For now though, we'll have to wait until an official announcement confirms the theme of Overcooked 2's new free update.

Overcooked 2 is currently available on Xbox One, PS4, PC, and Nintendo Switch. You can get your hands on it from Amazon if you like.
