Overhaul Games “Looking Into” Possible Boxed Release for Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition

Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition has been announced as a digital release only, but, despite the age of digital downloads, many gamers still love their boxes and their manuals.

Creative Director of Overhaul Games Trent Oster announced today on Twitter that not all hope is lost for those that would like the game to come in a box, as it happened in the glorious times during which the original was released.

Here’s the exact quote:

We’ve been surprised by the number of people asking for a box copy of #bgee It is something we are looking into.

Personally, I’m between the hopeful. While digital delivery is massively convenient both for the developer and the end user, there’s still something to be said for adding a new box to your shelf, especially if you can set it side by side with the original Baldur’s Gate and its expansion.
