Overwatch 2 will be adopting an all-new free-to-play model, in line with the rumors that have been circulating in the past few days, which is a first for the franchise.

During the Bethesda & Xbox showcase, Blizzard announced that Overwatch 2 will be making its way into Early Access on October 4. Alongside that, an all-new character, Junker Queen, was also revealed, which avid fans might have seen previously, thanks to the leaks. We will also be getting a new character Sojourn during the Early Access, which fans must have seen before in the game itself.

It was quite a surprise to see Overwatch 2 in the Xbox showcase, considering that there was always a question regarding Blizzard being a part of the event. The reason for that is the fact that the Microsoft Blizzard deal is still far from getting completed, with a number of hurdles popping up now and then. However, it seems like Xbox might be getting some sort of special stuff when it comes to Overwatch 2.

Overwatch 2 will also be bringing an all-new PvE mode, which is still under development. The showcase, however, didn't contain any information about that PvE mode at all, so it is quite likely that we might not be seeing it when the game goes into early access later this year.
