According to a recent Blizzard announcementOverwatch‘s Competitive Play mode is incoming shortly. If you’ve been playing the game on PC, a patch for Competitive Play should be coming sometime today. Meanwhile, those enjoying the class-based shooter on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One can expect that same patch next week.

Overwatch‘s Competitive Play mode was a feature removed from the launch thanks to community suggestions following one of the pre-launch betas. Because the mode has been delayed, Blizzard has confirmed that the current season will be a partial season. While most competitive play seasons will last 2.5 months, this one will go from today until August 18th. After that point, the seasons will resume the ordinary 2.5 month cycle.
