After months of teases and speculation, Blizzard finally revealed today that the next character in its class-based multiplayer shooter Overwatch would be none other than Doomfist.

For those who may be unaware, Doomfist has been teased as a character in Overwatch since before the game ever released last year. His inclusion, while maybe not a surprise, is one that the Overwatch community has waited to see for quite some time.

Blizzard also provided a quick description of Doomfist to detail how his powers and abilities will work.

Doomfist’s cybernetics make him a highly-mobile, powerful frontline fighter. In addition to dealing ranged damage with his Hand Cannon, Doomfist can slam the ground, knock enemies into the air and off balance, or charge into the fray with his Rocket Punch. When facing a tightly packed group, Doomfist leaps out of view, then crashes down to earth with a spectacular Meteor Strike.

For now, Doomfist is available for play in the Public Testing Region of Overwatch which is available on PC only. After Blizzard is able to work out any potential balancing issues through his addition to the game, Doomfist will then arrive on all platforms and game modes that are offered.

Blizzard also released a new animated video to accompany the reveal of Doomfist and it's pretty freaking awesome. If you want to check it out for yourself, then you can find it below. Additionally, you can find another video featuring Blizzard's Jeff Kaplan talking about the history and features that Doomfist boasts.
