With a new Overwatch map comes a new part of the world to discover and explore. Havana is the latest locale to be represented by Blizzard's team shooter, with the Escort map now being available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. Like most maps before, players previously got a chance to try it out on the PTR.

This map based on the Cuban city contains "old colonial fortifications" and "colorful streets of the iconic coastal city." Some tourist spots include the Don Rumbotico distillery and the Havana Sea Fort. As one can gather based on the map's description and hot spots, the payload that must be escorted is a cart of rum barrels. The description of the map from Blizzard is as follows:

Havana is a new Escort map set in the region where one of the infamous members of Talon’s council, Maximilien, operated. For a time, this shadowy organization plagued the local populace with their corruption and crime. Eventually, an Overwatch Strike team was deployed to extract Maximilien with the purpose of gaining intel on a mysterious Talon counterpart, Doomfist.

That scenario will be familiar to those who participated in the latest Overwatch event, called "Storm Rising." That co-operative event had players take the roles of Tracer, Winston, Genji, and Mercy as the aforementioned Overwatch Strike team in pursuit of Maximilien. It's yet another example of how Blizzard plans to continue their promise of growing the franchise and its world.

In other recent news, Overwatch added a Workshop Mode, one that would allow users to create their own game modes and rulesets. As of now, the Workshop Mode is only playable in the game's PTR, which is only available to PC users. After that, expect the floodgates for Workshop Mode to be opened up on both PC and consoles. Hopefully, there won't be any technical issues with future patches, as this latest patch adding the Havana map was slightly delayed for Xbox One.

While we continue to wait on the Workshop Mode update for all platforms, be sure to practice with the newest hero Baptiste. Check out the short trailer video for the Havana map below.
