Overwatch has received an all-new update recently which allows players to play the game with their friends across a variety of platforms. Blizzard is already working on a sequel to Overwatch, which will be known as Overwatch 2 but it hasn't stopped bringing new updates to Overwatch yet.

The sequel to Overwatch builds upon the existing title itself but it is a standalone title itself. Overwatch 2 players will be able to play against Overwatch players in PvP battles as well, but there will be several distinct features as well.

As players are waiting for the sequel to arrive, Blizzard has today made an interesting change lately which should make the game significantly more exciting.

Overwatch: How to Use Crossplay With Friends?

After the latest update, players will be playing with their friends across all platforms, including, PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Switch. Whether you are playing Quick Play, Arcade, or Custom games, you can simply team up with your friends to play the game.

However, there is a small catch. When it comes to competitive play, PC players will not be able to play with console players. This is more of a blessing than a drawback as such, considering the fact that PC players do have an unfair advantage over console players, especially in first-person shooters.

You might be wondering how can then players use crossplay? Well, for PC players, you basically have to do nothing. Crossplay has been enabled automatically for PC players. If you are on any of the consoles, you need to head to Battle.net to link your account with your respective platform.

This will allow you to see all other players on other consoles with their Battle.net accounts linked. You can then join other player's lobbies or invite them to your own and start playing!
