Overwatch is Getting a Ranked/Competitive Mode Sometime in June; No Single-Player in Current Plans

During a “Launch Day Q&A” on the Overwatch Facebook, Jeff Kaplan, the Game Director of Overwatch, confirmed that the game will be getting a big content update in June, which will include a Competitive Mode that will rank players against each other.

He said that a competitive mode is the main thing that the team is focusing on post-launch, and that he is hoping to get it out sometime in June. Due to the mixed feedback from some people in the open beta about the competitive mode, they wanted to rework it and make it something that the fans will enjoy.

Jeff Kaplan also said that their are no current plans for any single-player content in the game, but that they are keeping it in mind. He did confirm that we are getting more Overwatch Shorts, though, so they are continuing the story in that sense.

You can watch the Q&A hereOverwatch releases tomorrow, May 24, on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
