Overwatch’s Next Seasonal Event is Set to Celebrate the Lunar New Year

Overwatch is set to get festive once again as celebrations for the Year of the Pig are scheduled to kick off later this month.

The ever-changing content of popular first-person shooter Overwatch is set to see yet another wave of alterations next week as the game prepares to once again celebrate the lunar new year.

The return of the annual event was announced recently via the official Overwatch Twitter account. The tweet contained a short video showing Soldier: 76 playing with a den-den daiko; a small drum with pellets attached to strings on either side. As he increases the tempo, the camera whips away to show a large, heavy drum which reveals that Overwatch will feature a Year of the Pig event.

Although there are no specifics announced as of yet regarding what content will be available during the lunar new year themed event, it’s reasonable to assume that we will see a wave of time-limited skins for the game’s heroes. Seasonal events are a popular part of Overwatch with its holiday-themed Winter Wonderland having only come to an end recently.

The popular esports title is available now on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. If you haven’t already secured a copy of this hectic team-based first-person shooter, you can do so via Amazon.

Overwatch’s upcoming Year of the Pig event will run from January 24, 2019, until February 18, 2019.
