New Overwatch Cinematic ‘Reunion’ Spotlights McCree and Reveals New Character
Take a look at the new Overwatch animated short 'Reunion' as well as the first look at the new character, Ashe.
Today, during the BlizzCon opening ceremony, a brand new animated cinematic featuring Overwatch‘s DPS hero McCree was revealed.
The cinematic begins in the diner where an unexpected train robbery occurs. Actually giving some context to why the map is shaped the way it is — the gang is known as Deadlock led by the white-haired outlaw Ashe used explosives to destroy the train — has a shootout with said outlaws who he supposedly has had previous encounters with. After defeating the gang, McCree opens a mysterious pod holding a sentient robot named Echo.
After the cinematic ended, Jeff Kaplan alluded Echo as a possible new character in the future but in the end, it was the white-haired outlaw Ashe that got the honors. More information about the new hero will be available at the Overwatch: What’s Next panel happening today for virtual ticket holders.
BlizzCon will feature a bunch of panels featuring all of its titles, including World of Warcraft, StarCraft II, and Diablo, that will reveal what the future holds for each series. Additionally, all of Blizzard’s esports events will be concluding at BlizzCon.
