Today, Blizzard announced that its Pink Mercy campaign for its popular shooter Overwatch has raised over $12.7 million (USD) to help support the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. This makes it the largest donation a single corporate partner has made within a year since the organization was founded 25 years ago.

In May, Blizzard revealed the charity skin which cost $14.99 in-game or online. Additionally, a Pink Mercy themed shirt was available on the official Blizzard Gear Store for $30. Both of these products were available for a limited time. All the proceeds to these products were donated to the BCRF and it certainly shows.

Additionally, those who donated during the charity streams hosted by various Overwatch stars on Twitch during that time raised over $130,000, all of which went to the BCRF.

To celebrate the campaign's success, Overwatch Game Director Jeff Kaplan and the Overwatch team presented the check to the BCRF at a special presentation.

In other Overwatch related news, a brand new hero has joined the ever-growing roster. Wrecking Ball, a mech controlled by an adorable hamster, has joined the fray as a new tank option.

Overwatch is available now for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. You can purchase the Game of the Year edition on Amazon to get 10 bonus loot boxes.
