Following the announcement from a few days ago, blizzard launched today Overwatch's new summer event, named without much imagination "Summer Games 2018."

Alongside the opening of the games, we get a new trailer, which you can see below.

First of all Lúcioball is back, with two different stages, Rio de Janiero’s Estádio das Rãs and the brand new Sydney Harbour Arena. Two modes are also available, Lúcioball and the new Copa Lúcioball, bringing more competition with placement matches, skill ratings tiers, leaderboards, and competitive points.

Seventeen different skins, which you can see in the gallery, will also be made available, alongside five highlight intros, and four emotes. Some of these goodies are news, while some are returning from last year's Summer Games, in case you missed them.

Just a few days ago, Blizzard talked about its development pipeline for new IPs, even if Mike Morhaime explained that the majority of the company's resources are dedicated to service its current games, including Overwatch itself. A new anti-hero named Doomfist has also recently been added to the roster of available playable characters.

Overwatch is currently available for PS4, Xbox One and PC. In case you missed it, you can check out our review from last year.
