Since its launch last year, Blizzard Entertainment's Overwatch has regularly brought players back in every few months with a steady stream of themed events where players can unlock special loot for a limited time, with a new patch hinting at what may be coming for the summer.

Following a recent patch to the game's Public Test Server, users on Reddit (via IGN) have reported crash logs files that may contain a hint at the next event and character that will be coming to Overwatch, presumably in the near future for the summer.

Specifically, the crash logs reference the game's version as "1.13.0.0 Doomfist / Summer Games," implying that the long-awaited debut of Doomfist could be happening in the very near future (as he has been hinted at many times before both in and out of the game), while last year's Summer Games event could be making a return again for the summer.

The timing for a new event seems right as the game's last major event - its Anniversary celebration - ended a few weeks ago, leaving an opportunity for a new event to kickoff soon leading into the summer. However, the reference has been removed from the crash logs afterwards, so it could just be a joke on the part of the Blizzard teasing overly-eager fans - only time will tell.

Overwatch is available now for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
