Overwatch VA Matthew Mercer Cosplays as McCree and Kills It
Knowing that Matthew Mercer dressed in full cosplay of his Overwatch character McCree is great, especially when he shares the results with fans.
Matthew Mercer, the voice actor who voices gunslinger McCree from the popular first-person shooter Overwatch, decided to have some fun and cosplay as his own character. And honestly? The results are fantastic. Thankfully he shared this great success through a status update on his official Twitter account so we could see for ourselves.
The Hero McCree is an outlaw and former gang member who fights for the principle of righteousness. Using his Peacekeeper, McCree takes out targets with deadeye precision and dives out of danger with eagle-like speed:
“You seem familiar… ain’t I killed you before?”
Got some of my McCree photos back, and I’m PRETTY damn happy with how they turned out!

After a series of leaks, it was officially confirmed at Blizzcon 2019 that Overwatch 2 would be releasing. Hero talents and in-game items are coming to Overwatch 2 PvE, and one of the missions will be a four-player story experience set in Rio de Janeiro, as opposed to the 6v6 gameplay in the original Overwatch.
While much of the focus will be on story and narrative elements, Overwatch will see its first new mode since the game was released in beta in 2015, with “Push” set to be unveiled alongside Assault, Control, Escort, Hybrid. Push will be set on a new map based in Toronto.”
The reveal of Overwatch 2 comes at a tumultuous time for the developer and publisher, with a Nintendo Switch port for the first game recently releasing and organized protests against Blizzard in full force today, due to the company’s stance on speech regarding the ongoing Hong Kong protests. Blizzard Entertainment President J. Allen Brack addressed the controversy at the top of the presentation, giving a sort of “apology” while not addressing Hong Kong by name and not reversing any of the company’s decisions.
