The Owlboy: Limited Edition Box Set Has Been Delayed Until August

Originally slated for a July 13 release, Owlboy: Limited Edition for Switch and PS4 has a new arrival date set for the end of August.

Those who were looking forward to receiving their copy of Owlboy: Limited Edition will now have to wait beyond the original release date. As reported earlier, the game with some added Owlboy-themed collectible goodies was first revealed to have a release date of July 13, 2018. It will now instead release on August 31.

Some might be upset over this decision, as is with any delay in the gaming industry. Marten Buijsse, the Community Manager at SOEDESCO, had some words of explanation to those who may be feeling these frustrations. He stated:

We want everyone around the globe to receive their Limited Edition at the same time. This was proving to be a challenge, so we decided to delay the launch so that we can have one worldwide launch date. However, I’m sure true fans will agree that it’s worth the wait!

While there are only 6000 units of Owlboy: Limited Edition to go around, the set of collectibles inside are quite impressive, which include a Certificate of Authenticity, the original soundtrack, two metal coins inspired by the Buccanary coins from in-game, Owlboy sticker sheets, and more.

Owlboy is available for PC, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One, and Owlboy: Limited Edition is exclusive to the Nintendo Switch and PS4.
