Today, Hi-Rez Studios -- developers of the team-based shooter Paladins -- released a new video that revealed said game has hit the 5 million register users mark, as well as a slab of other interesting tidbits.

Paladins released back in August on PC via Steam Early Access, where it has since been continuously among the top 20 played games on the platform.

Further, players have played the game for a total of 2.9 billion minutes, which is 5601 years, and have opened up 37 million radiant chest, and racked up a total of 2.2 billion kills.

Hi-Rez also revealed the most played characters by role. The results were the following:

  • Skye - Flank
  • Fernando - Front Line
  • Viktor - Damage
  • Pip - Support

Hi-Rez chief operating officer Todd Harris added the following in regards to the announcement of recent success:

"The early success of Paladins is a result of a passionate community that helped us through months of closed-beta testing. It is great to see such a strong early response, and what we have now is only the beginning as the dev team is releasing a significant new update every two weeks."

Beyond the updates every two weeks, Hi-Rez is holding an eight-team Paladins Invitational Tournament in Atlanta on January 5th. The teams will be from around the world and compete for a big ol' $150,000 prize pot. Every match will be live streamed from the game's official Twitch channel.

Paladins is set to make its full release sometime in 2017 for PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Mac.
