Pale Serpent Widowmaker Skin Revealed in Overwatch Lunar New Year 2021 Event

After new skins for Ashe and Echo, now Overwatch snipers get Pale Serpent skin for Widowmaker.

As one of the most popular characters in Overwatch, players always keep an eye out for any type of cosmetics arriving for Widowmaker. Hopefully, Blizzard didn’t disappoint the fans of the hero and revealed Pale Serpent Widowmaker for the character along with the launch of the Year of the Ox event.

Overwatch Year of the Ox celebration

Overwatch Year of the Ox has already started on February 4 and will be available across all platforms until February 25. The new event celebrates the Chinese New Year with the new Bounty Hunter brawl mode. As shown in the trailer, the player who gets the first kill in this mode becomes the target to the other players known as Bounty Hunters. Whoever kills the target, becomes the next target in the match. The player with the highest score wins the match when the time ends. The good news is the Bounty Hunter mode will remain in the Arcade section of the game after the Year of the Ox event ends.

Pale Serpent Widowmaker and more skins available

Aside from the new mode, some new cosmetics including skins, sprays, and voice lines have also been added with the new event. Recently, we talked about the Tiger Huntress skin for Ashe and Kkachi skin for Echo, but the latest extended trailer of the event revealed more new skins, including Pale Serpent Widowmaker. Bastion, Junkrat, Symmetra, and Orisa are the other heroes that will have their all-new Chinese outfits available in the game during the Year of the Ox event.

The status of Overwatch

Overwatch is currently available on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Thus far, there has been no news about a ninth-gen version of the game coming to Xbox Series X|S or PS5. In a recent earnings call by Activision-Blizzard, it was confirmed that Overwatch 2 still has a long way to go in the development process and won’t be launched until 2022.
