Following the additions of Spritzee/Aromatisse, Swirlix/Slurpuff, the Goomy line and Xerneas, Pokemon GO players have been treated to another brand new pairing - Pancham and Pangoro.

The duo of pandas have been added to the game following the completion of the Global Challenge during the Luminous Legends X event.

As with all new Pokemon in Pokemon GO, players have a range of questions - including "are Pancham and Pangoro good?"

Let's take a look at their max CP and movesets to see if they have a place in the GO Battle League meta.

Pancham and Pangoro MAX CP AND OTHER DETAILS

Pancham itself is a pure Fighting-type Pokemon, its evolution Pangoro on the other hand is a combination of Fighting and Dark. This means that they are weak to Fairy, Flying and Psychic-type moves.

Alongside their trio of weaknesses, the pair also have a trio of resistances. They are Bug, Dark and Rock-type moves. Pangoro also has an extra resistance of Psychic, which is great for a half-Fighting Pokemon.

In terms of max CP, a 100% Pancham will hit 1489 CP when at level 40 or 1683 CP when powered up with XL Candies to level 50.

Pangoro and its max CP on the other hand are, as you would expect, significantly better. It maxes out at 2902 CP at level 40 and 3281 CP at level 50.

Pancham and Pangoro Best Movesets

Pancham's best moveset utilises its Fighting typing and STAB damage - you can see it below:

  • Fast Move - Low Kick
  • Charge Move - Low Sweep
  • Charge Move - Body Slam

Pangoro also utilises its STAB damage with a combination of Dark and Fighting-type moves. Its best moveset is the following:

  • Fast Move - Snarl
  • Charge Move - Close Combat
  • Charge Move - Night Slash

Are Either Pokemon Good in The GO Battle League?

As you would suspect, Pancham doesn't make a splash in any of the leagues and therefore, isn't worth your consideration.

Pangoro on the other hand has an opportunity to carve out a decent niche for itself.

While it performs well in the Ultra League (becoming the 96th best choice according to PVPoke), the Master League is where it really shines.

Pangoro just misses out on the top 50, placing 51st in PVPokes rankings, however, it picks up some massive wins.

It can beat some of the league's fiercest and most popular picks, including Dialga, both Giratina forms, Metagross and Snorlax. I expect it to be quite a popular pick going forward.
