Update: The remakes are not co-developed by Forever Entertainment and Sega. They are developed by Forever Entertainment, with Sega licensing the games to the company.

Forever Entertainment announced on its official website it is working on two Panzer Dragoon games remakes: Panzer Dragoon: Remake, and Panzer Dragoon II Zwei: Remake. The two remakes are being created together by Forever Entertainment and Sega, but specific information on the games' staff was not disclosed yet.

Panzer Dragoon: Remake will feature brand new graphics following today's standards, and several modifications to the game systems, in order to make it more attractive to modern players. However, the remake will keep the same storyline as the original game.

Panzer Dragoon: Remake will be out before the end of 2019. Panzer Dragoon II Zwei: Remake, however, has no release date estimate. Platforms for both games weren't announced either. More details will be coming in the following months.

The first Panzer Dragoon game released for Sega Saturn in 1995 and is a rail shooter. It was one of the first games released on Saturn and became a classic, mostly thanks to its 3D graphics, considered revolutionary at the time, and its 360° gameplay. The last game in the series, Panzer Dragoon Orta, released for Xbox in 2002 and is currently playable with Xbox One's backward compatibility. The series is also one of the inspirations for Tetsuya Mizuguchi's rhythm shooting game Rez. The original game has already been remade in the past, including a Sega Ages release for PS2. As someone who owns the original game on Saturn and greatly appreciates it, I couldn't be more excited.
