Known previously for his work on the classic adventure game Another World, the game's creator Eric Chahi is looking to bring players into an entirely different "another world" through the power of PlayStation VR with a newly-announced project called Paper Beast.

Pixel Reef's Eric Chahi announced over on the PlayStation Blog that his next title is called Paper Beast, which will be coming to PlayStation VR later in 2019. A brief description of what players can expect from the game can be found below, alongside a reveal trailer that showcases the game's striking visual style:

"Somewhere deep down in the vast memory of a data server, an ecosystem has emerged. Decades of lost code and algorithms have accumulated in the eddies and flows of the Internet. A small bubble of life has blossomed. Paper Beast is born."

Chahi explained that the core inspiration for Paper Beast came from his experimentation with the Unity Engine and research into Big Data, where he ultimately was able to try out an interesting concept combining the two alongside physics-based gameplay.

The game itself is "built atop a simulation covering every conceivably detail, from terrain simulation to animal locomotion," where players can then interact with a variety of different objects and the environment in "an immersive, playful universe." Specifically, Chahi stated that "creatures will adapt their behavior to how you, as a player, interact with the world."

Paper Beast will release for PlayStation VR later this year. For a closer look at the upcoming title, you can check out the trailer below:
