Believe it or not, there's a new Paper Mario game that is slated to release next Friday. In what has been a quick turnaround from its initial announcement to launch, Paper Mario: The Origami King is now nearly upon us. To make the wait until its arrival a bit easier, Nintendo today released a brief new trailer for the game.

The latest video for The Origami King is only 30-seconds in length, but it gives us a few new glimpses of gameplay that we haven't seen before. Some of these new pieces of gameplay include simple looks at Mario and pals walking about in addition to some more views of the title's unique combat. The trailer then ends by revealing what looks to be a new boss of sorts, which is a giant flaming bird. If nothing else, The Origami King definitely has style in droves and this new video shows as much.

All in all, I'm still unsure what to think of about Paper Mario: The Origami King. While I have long loved this series from Nintendo, the past few entries with Sticker Star and Color Splash have been more disappointing than I would have liked. The Origami King looks like it could make for quite a fun adventure and will surely contain more witty writing, as always, but the general combat is still what I'm not sold on just yet. Hopefully, it will be the return to the form I've wanted from the series for years.

Paper Mario: The Origami King will release exclusively on the Nintendo Switch next week on July 17. If you'd like to check out the newly released trailer in question, you can view it up above.
