Paradox GDC Lineup: Mount & Blade: With Fire & Sword

Possibly the biggest game that Paradox will be showing off at this year’s GDC, Mount & Blade: With Fire & Sword is the latest installment of the franchise, set in post-medieval Poland. The story itself is based on the classic Polish historical novel With Fire And Sword. Paradox says the game will feature “fully customizable troops”, “new siege options”, and new post-medieval weaponry, such as the large primitive gun shown above. Paradox also promises to build on the multiplayer modes of Warband, one of the best aspects of the game.

I’ve never played any of the Mount & Blade series, but the post-medieval period isn’t represent very often in games, and the extremely open nature of the series has always intrigued me. Definitely looking forward to seeing where this game goes.
