With the recent success (commercial and/or critical) of zombie-themed games like Dead Rising, Left 4 Dead, The Walking Dead, Left 4 Dead 2, Dead Island, etc. It comes as no surprise that Paramount is throwing their hat into the ring by registering a trademark for their upcoming film, World War Z. The trademark is specified as securing the rights to, “downloadable electronic game program, electronic game software, and video game cartridges/discs,” based on World War Z (we still patent cartridges?).

World War Z will star Brad Pitt as Gerry Lane, a United Nations employee who travels the globe, searching for clues related to stopping the zombie apocalypse that is in progress. Also starring in the film are Mireille Enos and James Badge Dale. It is due to be released on June 21st, 2013 in theaters everywhere.
