Pathfinder: Kingmaker is out today for PC from Deep Silver and Owlcat Games, with a launch trailer showing off the isometric RPG’s world, characters, and combat.
Playing much like traditional CRPG’s, Pathfinder: Kingmaker is an adaptation of the 2009 tabletop RPG from Paizo Publishing. Paizo previously published magazines based on Dungeons & Dragons, but after Wizards of the Coast chose to not renew their contract in 2007, Paizo started up Pathfinder as a replacement and based it on version 3.5 of D&D due to their concerns over the 4th edition changes. Kingmaker is the second game based on Pathfinder, the first being Pathfinder Online, a Kickstarted game much like this one that has yet to see full release.
Pathfinder: Kingmaker is the first title from Owlcat Games, who brought on famed RPG writer Chris Avellone to help with development. You can find a copy on Steam and GOG for $39.99 USD with more expensive editions offering additional content such as an art book, digital soundtrack, digital map, in-game pet, and more. You can watch the launch trailer below.
“Making Pathfinder: Kingmaker has been the most incredible journey. As a team we have lived this game, poured our passion, energy and personalities into it. The time has now come to allow fans to experience all that the Stolen Lands has to offer! We hope you enjoy it!” said Oleg Shpilchevsky, Head Of Owlcat Games
