Pathologic 2 is an upcoming dramatic thriller that has you playing as a healer in a rural town that is in the midst of being ravaged by a deadly disease. The narrative-focused experience looks deeply unsettling and incredibly weird. Give their odd, new trailer a look yourself below.

Russian developer Ice-Pick Lodge put out the first Pathologic way back in 2005. In 2014, the team started a Kickstarter campaign to remake the game but eventually decided to turn that into Pathologic 2. This new game will release in parts, with the first one coming in two weeks.

Pathologic 2 - Part 1 gives you twelve days to try and keep yourself and the people of your small village alive. You will face numerous lose-lose scenarios and need to do what you can to make the best out of a terrible situation.

The game lets you approach those scenarios in a number of different ways. Maybe someone will come looking for a fight. You'll need to decide if you want to use your fists or your wallet to get out of that particular dust-up. And the scary part is that the true enemy can never be killed. The plague is always coming, what will you do to stay alive?

Your options are many in your quest to survive. The number of systems the devs have shown off so far is kind of staggering. It really does appear that if you can think of it, you can do it. It will be interesting to see if Ice-Pick Lodge can pay off the promise they've shown in their atmospheric trailers.

Pathologic 2 - Part 1 is coming May 23 to PC, PS4, and Xbox One. Check back after you finish it to get news on when Part 2 is coming.
