PAX East 11: A Look At Pokémon TCG Online

Off the heels of the launch of Pokémon Black and White Versions, the Pokémon Trading Card Game is preparing to launch its newest wave of cards based off the newest titles. I know what you all are thinking, “Who cares about a card game based on a videogame?” But, you do care, because the latest cards are going to release almost simultaneously with the launch of Pokémon TCG Online. It’s a game based on the card game based on the game. Cool, right?

The newest Pokémon Black and White starter decks will include a code card (shown above) that will import each and every single card in your newly bought deck into the virtual world of Pokémon TCG Online. It’s an optional added bonus that will not affect any of the hardcore card collecting fans. The game will feature the 3 new decks, 14 AI opponents, and up to 36 different games. Although a date has not been set in stone yet, Pokemon TCG Online will release sometime in April. The game is also promised to go online multiplayer this Fall. We definitely look forward to seeing that.
