Payday 2 brought players the chance to gather together on elaborate heists across consoles and PC, and now those heists will be taken on-the-go with the upcoming Switch version of the game when it arrives for the system next month.

During today's Nintendo Direct Mini, Nintendo revealed that Payday 2 will release for the Nintendo Switch for $49.99. Alongside the game's release on the Nintendo Switch (and giving players the first portable version of the game), Nintendo also revealed that a new character will be coming with the Switch release next month named Joy.

Joy is a "Japanese computer whiz" that comes packing a cool-looking LED mask and her own set of specialized weapons and hacker abilities, and should provide some unique strategies to players in Payday 2 when she arrives with the Switch release. Joy will apparently be a timed-exclusive character that is debuting on the Switch, but could come to other platforms down the line.

In addition to the new character Joy, publisher 505 Games also confirmed that the Switch version of Payday 2 will also include a local multiplayer option for the game in CRIME.NET, and will allow players on the same local network to join games and play together (though online options will still be available for players with the option).

Payday 2 is currently available on PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360, PC, and Linux, and will head to the Nintendo Switch on February 27th, 2018. For a closer look, you can check out the game's new trailer for the Switch release below, or read our original review of the game:
