PC System Requirements, Trophies/Achievements and Pre-Load Times Announced for Prey

A load of new technical information for Prey has been released, including details on PC system requirements, trophies/achievements, and pre-load times.

Arkane Studios and Bethesda Softworks went into more detail about some of the technical aspects of Prey today, including the PC system requirements, recommended free space for the game on console, trophy list, and game pre-load and unlock times.

CPU: Intel i5-2400, AMD FX-8320

GPU: GTX 660 2GB, AMD Radeon 7850 2GB

Memory: 8 GB


CPU: Intel i7-2600K, AMD FX-8350

GPU: GTX 970 4GB, AMD R9 290 4GB

Memory: 16 GB

The PC version of the game will also have advanced settings for Object Detail, Shadow Quality, Texture Quailty, Anisotropic Filtering, Anti-Aliasing, Field of View, Screen Space Directional Occlusion, and Screen Space reflections.

When it comes to consoles, the developers recommended that players have around 42GB of free space for Prey on PS4, and 38GB on Xbox One. For those more concerned with trophies and achievements on those systems respectively, the following info-graphic was released:

On consoles, pre-loading will be available from Midnight on April 28 in North America, and at Midnight on April 29 in Europe. PC players can begin to pre-load Prey on May 3. It will unlock in all territories at Midnight on May 5, the day of the game’s release.

For those can’t wait to play the game, the developers released a free demo on PS4 and Xbox One. You can learn more about that here. Raphael Colantonio, the game’s Creative Director, also recently confirmed plans for post-launch DLC and stated that it is impossible for players to see every alien power in one play-through.
