Perfect World’s Andrew Brown Expects the Company to Become a “Major Player in the Console Marketplace” After Opening Console Division

Perfect World, the publisher behind such games as Star Trek Online and Champions Online has opened up a division specifically designated to develop new games for consoles in addition to porting old ones to the platforms.

Perfect World’s Vice President of Publishing Andrew Brown commented that the division was created to, “better connect with gamers.” The division will be focused on bringing these games to both current and past-gen consoles. Blacklight Retribution is an example of a Perfect World game on a console, having been released for the PlayStation 4 at launch.

Information pertaining to specific console projects is promised to come within the next few months.
