Persona 2: Innocent Sin Being Ported to the PSP

In the tradition they started with Persona PSP last year, Atlus Japan announced in what appears to be possibly Famitsu, that they will be porting Persona 2: Innocent Sin over the Sony’s handheld system in the same manner. It will be adjusted for the wide-screen display and have some tweaks to the menu system and other game systems. This is the first of two games released as Persona 2 in Japan, only one of which made it to North America. Both Innocent Sin and Eternal Judgement were released in Japan, and they were true sequels of each other – which means if you didn’t play the first, you would have no idea what was going on in the second.

Atlus USA released only the second one in North America, which led to quite a bit of confusion and overall low sales across the board. Assuming Atlus USA eventually brings Innocent Sin over to the West, we’ll finally be able to catch up on what we missed in the first part of the story. Considering both Persona PSP and the outstanding¬†Persona 3 Portable were localized, I don’t have much doubt that Persona 2: Innocent Sin will be, as well. Hopefully we’ll see more details on this soon.
