Persona 25th anniversary events, concert, predictions

Morgana is back to the world of VTubers with a first iteration of the Persona 25th Times, short YouTube videos with news on the celebrations. The first video was published on September 20.

The Persona series is celebrating its 25th anniversary, the first game in the series, Megami Ibunroku Persona (Revelations: Persona) was released September 20, 1996 on PS1. Atlus made several announcements for the occasion:

All the Persona anime will be coming to VOD services in Japan: The Persona Trinity Soul series, the Persona 3 movies, The Persona 4 and Persona 4 Golden TV series, and the Persona 5 The Animation TV series and its specials.

Next, Tokyo Game Show 2021 will feature a mini YouTube live concert with Lyn on October 3. Following next, the Persona 25th Anniversary Orchestra Concert will be held on November 21, 2021. We might get some teaser over there, maybe a glimpse of the hair or back of the Persona 6 protagonist or something.

Lastly, the past stage play Persona 5 The Stage and the previous concert Persona Super Live will be streamed at some point in Japan. It’s unknown for now if it will be region-locked streams or not.

When’s Persona 6 news coming, and is Persona 5 coming to PC? Predictions

Atlus already teased the final, big 25th anniversary announcement, probably a Persona 6 reveal, is in Autumn 2022. Five more announcements will be coming before then, with the next one planned for December 2021. I’m personally expecting either a new Persona 5 spinoff like a P5 Arena fighting game or a genre that the series didn’t do before. Such as a cooking or racing game.

In particular, Sega teased several times in the past it plans to extend its PC catalogue. Persona 5 Strikers was also released on PC alongside PS4 and Switch when it was localized this year. It’s the first time a Persona game is released on Steam, besides Persona 4 Golden. It’s possible one of these 25th anniversary announcements will be Persona 5 (Royal) releasing on PC via Steam.

A video introducing the various goods sold for the Persona 25th anniversary was also published by Atlus. While it’s from the Japanese YouTube channel rather than Atlus West, it’s subbed in English. You can also reach me on Twitter to discuss the series @A_iyane07.
