We’ve received a precious few new details regarding the anime movie adaptation of the popular JRPG Persona 3. The last update we got came back in August when a teaser trailer was released promoting the film. Today, an update to the movie’s official Japanese website has confirmed that the movie will be released to (Japanese) theaters sometime next year. The website also refers to the film as “Persona 3 the Movie #1”, which insinuates that there may be a Persona 3 the Movie #2, #3 and so on.

The Persona series is popular around the world and because the Persona 4 anime was eventually released in North America, I’m inclined to believe that the Persona 3 movie will reach the west at some point as well.
