Persona 5 Royal, which is set to release on October 21 worldwide, is now getting a card game for those who want to see their favorite characters in their decks. Atlus has announced that it will be collaborating with Pandasaurus Games to create a Persona 5 Royal card game, with the details to be provided soon.

The publisher also revealed that the card game is scheduled to release next year, on October 21, meaning it will have enough time to show off what is in the works for die-hard fans of the Persona series. It is safe to say that many of the fan-favorite characters from the original game, such as Haru Okumura, Goro Akechi, and Yusuke Kitagawara, will be included in the upcoming strategy title. Developer Pandasaurus Game has not shared any information or screenshots just yet.

A designer at Pandasaurus Games, Emerson Matsuuchi, best known for his work on Century: Eastern Wonders and Foundations of Rome, said in the announcement, "Players will take on the roles of their favorite Phantom Thieves and fight to change the world in this cooperative card-based strategy game.” As players might expect from card games, characters will likely have unique powers and abilities that could be combined with passive effects. Nathan McNair, Co-owner of Pandasaurus Games, described his feelings on the studio's next project. "I cannot wait to bring the Palaces, Velvet Room, and world of Persona 5 Royal onto tabletops everywhere in 2023.”

Pandasaurus Games is a US-based board game publisher, whose portfolio includes some smash hits such as Dinosaur Island, The Mind, and Machi Koro. The company has made a name for itself since publishing its first game in 2012. Emerson Matsuuchi, who previously worked on Spectre Ops and Reef, will take on the role of designer for the Persona 5 Royal card game. Players will likely hear more about how characters will look in the game soon.

The next entry in the critically-acclaimed series, Persona 5 Royal, is due out for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5, Switch, and PC on October 21 worldwide. Players who pre-order the "Physical 1 More Edition" will receive cosmetics and frame art at launch.
