After the reveal of Persona 5 Royal's first full-length trailer, Sega and Atlus announced that more info will be coming on May 9. May 9 is a Thursday, so many thought the next report would come through the issue of Famitsu magazine releasing that day, and they were right. Famitsu published today the usual thumbnail previews of its next issue, and it contains an interview with Persona 5 Royal's development team.

The interview will feature Persona 5 Royal Producer Kazuhisa Wada, Director Daiki Itoh, and Character Designer Shigenori Soejima revealing brand new information.

Kazuhisa Wada took over the role of overseeing the Persona series in 2016 as Katsura Hoshino now works on Studio Zero's projects. Daiki Itoh previously directed Persona 4 Golden on PS Vita.

Persona 5 Royal adds new party member Kasumi, new story parts and events, new parts in dungeons, new confidants and more. You can read about all the additions revealed so far in our previous report. Attendees of the Persona Super Live P-Sound Street 2019 concert where the trailer was revealed also got a special short issue of Famitsu with more screenshots.

Persona 5 Royal launches exclusively on PS4, on October 31 in Japan and in 2020 in the west. A Musou-like game titled Persona 5 Scramble was also announced. The original Persona 5 on PS3 and PS4 also recently broke through over 2.7 million copies sold in the world.

Famitsu magazine will be available on May 9 at midnight JST, so look forward to our report soon after release. You can find the Famitsu preview thumbnails below.
