Persona 5 Royal Futaba Trailer Reveals her New Persona and All-out Attack Artwork

Persona 5 Royal Futaba Trailer Reveals her New Persona and All-out Attack Artwork

Futaba Sakura's introduction trailer reveals multiple new event scenes in Persona 5 Royal.

Atlus revealed this week’s Persona 5 Royal introduction trailer, this time focusing on Futaba Sakura, codename Navi, the Phantom Thieves’ navigator.

Futaba’s trailer starts with her meeting Kasumi for the first time. Probably because she’s extremely stressed meeting someone new, which is both funny but sad and like looking at a mirror, Futaba doesn’t really seem to know how to handle Kasumi. Morgana notes she speaks informally at first but suddenly became more polite mid-sentence.

The next scene is everyone doing their summer homework at the end of summer vacation. Ryuji is despairing about it. Futaba notes how stereotypical the situation is.

The next scene happens during the new January to April part, during the “Phantom Thieves coincidentally meeting during their new year shrine visit” scene. Yusuke starts doing his hand portrait thing, which puzzles Kasumi, but Futaba tells her she should just ignore him.

Next, we’ve got another new scene with Joker, Soujiro and Futaba. Seems they finished eating a cake, which implies it’s probably a new scene during the January to April part, on Futabaa’s birthday, February 19. Futaba is dreaming about Soujiro fusioning with something like a mecha.

We also get to see Futaba’s new persona, though its name isn’t revealed, and how she can participate in a certain way in an all-out attack finisher. As such, Atlus added an all-out attack finish illustration for Futaba. Persona 5 Royal‘s staff previously stated in a Famitsu interview Soejima and the art team made plenty of new portraits and illustrations cut-ins for the game. Futaba’s all-out attack finish illustration is one of those.

The last scene on the trailer shows Joker and Futaba at the newly accessible Jazz Club in Kichijoji. Futaba tells Joker that Soujiro might seem harsh at times, but he’s a really nice person. He might complain about something she asks, but he’ll always actually do it. So Futaba treasures Soujiro, including what he buys for her, and will repair these things herself if they break.

Ryuji’s, Ann’s and Yusuke’s new personas were detailed in screenshots. The previous character introduction trailer so far includes Kasumi, Ryuji, Ann, Yusuke, and Makoto.

Persona 5 Royal launches on October 31 in Japan, in 2020 in the west. Persona 5 Royal is a PS4 exclusive.
