Persona 5 Royal New Gameplay Explains New Mementos Mechanic
It's time for your weekly dose of short Persona 5 Royal gameplay videos, this time about a new mechanic in Mementos.
We’ve entered another week and another day of promotion for Persona 5 Royal in Japan. Atlus released via the official Persona Twitter account a new short gameplay video. This time it shows one of the new mechanics included in Mementos.
【 #P5R 10/31発売!】一般大衆のパレス“メメントス”にも何やら変化が見られるようだぜ。周囲が真っ暗になったり、レアなシャドウばかり出現したりと、いろんなハプニングに遭遇することも。 https://t.co/x3vyNLFgoq pic.twitter.com/OKic8DAUvR

When you get down to a Mementos floor, there’s a random probability this floor will be shrouded in darkness. Rare, powerful monsters will also lurk on the floor. In the gameplay video, Morgana explains how Mementos is everyone’s consciousness fused together, so it can go through both sudden structure or environmental changes.
Atlus already mentioned this new mechanic in the past. You can read more about the new Mementos mechanics included in Persona 5 Royal here.
Atlus recently revealed the opening animation movie, the title screen, and the first ten minutes or so of Persona 5 Royal. The casino escape includes new scenes with Kasumi. Kasumi is also getting in Star Ocean Anamnesis, and was also cosplayed by Enako. You can check all that here. Lastly, we also got some gameplay with a Joker and Goro confidant scene and some Challenge Battles mode live gameplay played by Joker’s seiyuu Fukujun.
PS4 exclusive Persona 5 Royal launches on October 31 in Japan and in Spring 2020 in the west. A feature answering if I personally felt like Persona 5 Royal’s additions were worth my time or not will probably be coming in early November.
