The remastered version of Persona 5 Royal, which was recently released on PC and current-gen consoles, has now achieved a new milestone of one million units sold worldwide, according to ATLUS’ new PR statement.

Persona 5 Royal has gotten a modern makeover and a re-release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC on October 21st this year, three years after the title's PlayStation 4 exclusivity. In addition to the variety of new platforms to choose from, the remaster includes all previously released content as well as a number of graphical options and 120 FPS support for PC users, so it’s no wonder the game has hit it big with players in such a short time.

Atlus added that the total sales of Persona 5 Royal on PlayStation consoles (PS4 and PS5) have reached 3.3 million units worldwide as of the end of November 2022. Also around the same time, the Persona 5 series, which encompasses Persona 5, Persona 5 Royal, Persona 5 Strikers, and Persona 5 Dancing In Starlight, have collectively sold 8.3 million units worldwide. Persona 5 alone has sold half of what the entire series sold in its lifetime, which has now exceeded 16.8 million units sold in both Japan and overseas.

A new accolades trailer has also been released alongside the PR announcement, and the video includes applauding comments from various overseas outlets. The recent enhancements particular to this version of Persona 5 have also earned it a new top spot on Metacritic, with meta score numbers ranging between 94 and 96 depending on the platform, and a must-play title for the Nintendo Switch version.

Persona 5 Strikers is considered as the original Persona 5 story’s spiritual sequel, meaning it doesn’t have any ties to the new characters or events introduced in the Royal version of the game. The game was released on PC and Nintendo Switch despite the prequel game not being released on the same platforms, but that problem has been resolved now. As for Persona 5: Dancing in Starlight, it incorporates a lot of the original game soundtracks into a fun rhythm game with exclusive remixed arrangements, but it hasn't been released on any other platform except Playstation 4 for now.
