Persona 5 Scramble English Version Listed By Multiple Asian Retailers
Persona 5 fans rejoice.
Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers fans should be able to breathe a sigh of relief. After the English version of the game was removed from Koei Tecmo’s recent financial results, some doubts were cast over whether a Western release would still actually be happening. However, as always seems to be the case at the moment, some online storefronts seem to have all but reconfirmed its existence.
Over the last day or so, the game has now popped up on no fewer than three different Asian retail sites. Pre-orders for the title can be found on Pakistani website Toy or Game, Singapore retailer Qisahn and Indonesian retailer PS Enterprise. Persona Central reports that the Indonesian retailer “claimed on their Facebook page that the listing was made because their supplier has confirmed that the game will be releasing in 2021.”
Many of the retailers are offering a specific release date for the English localised version of Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers and, if it’s to be believed, isn’t too far away. Both Toy or Game and Qisahn state that the game is due for release on February 23, next year.
The title has been out in Japan for a while now, releasing over there on February 20, this year. It was then released in other South-East Asian markets as well as Hong Kong, Taiwan and South Korea this past June.
The game is set six months after Persona 5 and follows the Phantom Thieves as they return to Tokyo for a reunion. While there, they are transported, via an app similar to the Metaverse Navigator, to a “Jail”. These Jails cause changes of behaviour back in the real world, forcing the Phantom Thieves to reunite once again. Despite being a direct sequel to Persona 5/Persona 5 Royal, P5S plays like a Musou game, with hordes of enemies on the screen, ready to do battle.
