Atlus and Sega revealed the first full-length trailer for Persona 5 The Royal during the first day of the Persona Super Live P-Sound Street 2019 concert. The trailer reveals the Japanese release date, the game launches on PS4 on October 31 in Japan. A short teaser video was also released by Atlus USA, revealing Persona 5 The Royal will come west on PS4 in 2020.The trailer starts by having Joker in his cell having a chat with a completely mysterious character, telling Joker he doesn't need his pity. The next sequence is similar to the first trailer for Persona 5, with Joker in the city and everyone around him suddenly stopping. There, he hears a girl's voice saying she stole someone's dream. The trailer also shows what seems to be Persona 5 The Royal's opening animation, and features the many different additions to this enhanced version. We've got new areas to visit like Kichijoji, the dungeons have been reworked and have new places and events. The game also has new characters and new battle systems.Last but not least, we've got a new party member, the girl shown in the first teaser. She's named Kasumi Yoshizawa and will join the Phantom Thieves at some point in the story. Sadly, it doesn't seem like the game will feature a female protagonist like many hoped, and Kasumi is the usual new girl Atlus adds in their remakes.Stay tuned as another article with more information and new screenshots is coming shortly.
