Unfortunately, the 2020 EUROs are postponed to 2021 due to COVID-19. However, Konami still owns the license and, when you can use something as big as the EUROs in PES 2020, you have to find a way to do it. Throughout the entire event, players can engage in different UEFA EURO 2020 matchdays. These highlight games from the tournament's match schedule with three different games each day. Players pick a national team side and kick-off. Depending on their in-game performance, players will affect the mode's overall progression. Effectively, the worldwide participation will determine which teams move on in PES 2020's virtual tournament.

Alongside the in-game action, players can go in and predict the winner of each matchday. Once the final hits, Konami will split 100 million myClub coins evenly between all the players who correctly select the winner. There are also a few different special login periods and, of course, several chances to grab new featured players from nine of Europe's best national teams.

Obviously, this is far from a replacement for the real-world EURO 2020 competition. However, it is an important move for PES 2020. FIFA 20 has finally started to release good content over the last few weeks as EA tries to entice people to come back for FIFA 21. Now, Konami has to do whatever it can do to the same. While not perfect, giving players a virtual version of the EUROs is certainly a solid step.

The EURO 2020 content is available now in PES 2020 on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. Players can also play through a version of the content on mobile.
