Phil Spencer “Confident” on Backward Compatible Skate 3, Focused on Blue Dragon; Talks Phantom Dust
Microsoft’s Xbox Division Head Phil Spencer took to Twitter again to answer the questions of the fans, giving information on upcoming backward compatible games and more.
First of all, we get a mention of Skate 3, which Spencer is “confident” about bringing to Xbox One via backward compatibility, even if he can’t commit to a date.
@DevinSeanBean We know its a key game and are on it. I'm confident in getting it out to XB1 customers, just can't give you a date yet, sorry

We also get a mention of Blue Dragon. Bringing it on as a backward compatible game is the focus, while no sequel is indevelopment.
@SlimFreakinFast Right now more focused on getting BD1 to XB1 owners. I'd never say never but not working on BD2 now.

Spencer also teased the coming “soon” of some backward compatible titles he has “really been looking forward” to.
@FoxHalo Just the order things come out of testing. We have some I've really been looking forward to coming soon.

Interestingly, Spencer mentioned that Phantom Dust is coming along well. The question actually asked about the “new” game, so we wonder if he’s talking about the actual new rendition of Yukio Futasugi’s game that went in development limbo after the closure of Darkside Game Studios, or the recently announced remaster.
@GamerTagstic @BeastFireTimdog @shannonloftis and I just discussed yesterday, coming along well.

As an additional bonus Spencer mentioned that Microsoft “likes” the idea of applying the concept of the Design Lab to Xbox One S consoles as well, while he has nothing specific to announce right now.
@MagicLeticia @Xbox @xboxuk We like the idea, nothing right now but we started this to see how gamers use it and if it should apply to more.
