If you’re like me, with fond memories of the Fable franchise, you’ve probably been pretty bummed that we haven’t gotten a new Fable game since Fable 3 in 2010 (not including the awful spin offs Fable Heroes and Kinect game Fable: The Journey nor Fable Anniversary).
As you may know, last year Microsoft announced the closure of Lionhead Studios, the long-time developer behind the series and who was working on Fable Legends, a new installment in the action RPG series.
Alas, it seemed like the Fable franchise was done — at least for awhile. And that may still be the case, however, recently head of Xbox Phil Spencer responded to a curious fan on Twitter wondering about a possible Fable 4, to which Spencer replied “Nothing to announce right now but I do think the IP has a lot of places it could go.” You can see the Twitter exchange for yourself below:

It’s far from a strong of suggestion to believe the Fable franchise will return in either the near-future or future, however, it does show that Spencer is at the very least, optimistic and keen on the future of the IP.
