Xbox’s Phil Spencer Visits Rare and Playground: Rare’s New Game Is “Uniquely Rare”
Microsoft’s Xbox Division head honcho Phil Spencer was in the UK today, visiting studios working on Xbox One, and apparently he had a really great day.
His visit started with Playground games, and he praised the studio on the work done with Forza Horizon 2:
Great visiting @WeArePlayground today, studio did amazing work on #ForzaHorizon2. pic.twitter.com/7fR0Ivj6o9

Unfortunately he gave no hint on what the studio may work on next, even if they’ll probably be busy with Forza Horizon 2 DLC for a while.
Then he moved on to Rare, and he gave a bright ray of hope to fans of the studio, explaining that their new game is an “uniquely Rare” title:
Got to play the new @RareLtd game today. Rare building a uniquely Rare game, as it should be. Great visit to the studio.

We still didn’t receive any official confirmation or denial from Microsoft or from Spencer on the “Battletoads” trademark unveiled yesterday, but an “uniquely Rare” game definitely sounds promising.
Incidentally, Rare did tweet about Battletoads yesterday, but it’s unknown whether it’s a tease in response to the trademark or just an unrelated answer to a fan.
We made Battletoads and we can assure you it’s easy. Do it, stream it! #battletoadstuesday RT @Michael5SOS I feel like playing battletoads
