Earlier this month, developer Obsidian Entertainment and publisher Versus Evil decided to delay the release of their highly anticipated crowdfunded RPG Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire from April 3 until May 8 in order to polish up the game a bit more. Today, we received the first trailer for the game since the announcement of its delay, and it delves into some of Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire's most interesting features.

This sequel flaunts itself as a "deeper adventure" than the original Pillars of Eternity, which first released on PC in March of 2015 before eventually making its way to PS4 and Xbox One. This new trailer flaunts how players are able to choose and customize their companions, the fact that you can become captain of a ship, and the lively world Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire contains. It also gives us a nice extended look at some gameplay, if you want to see the game in action before deciding whether you want to pick it up or not.

Below, you can watch the brand new features trailer for Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire, which will finally release on PC, Mac, and Linux on May 8.
