PixelJunk Monsters 2 to Get Physical Release from Limited Run Games
The long-awaited sequel to the beloved tower defense game PixelJunk Monsters 2 will get a physical release for the Nintendo Switch, PS4, and PC from Limited Run Games.
Following the announcement of PixelJunk Monsters 2 at this year’s GDC, Limited Run Games has announced that they will be releasing a physical edition of the game for Nintendo Switch, PS4, and PC.
While the long-awaited tower defense game will be available for digital download on all of the aforementioned platforms on May 25th, fans will have the option to get a tangible version of the game in their hands, though the exact release date of the physical version isn’t known just yet.
Limited Run Games has stated that they will be including all of the paid DLC with the physical edition of the game, and subsequently, will only send out the physical copies once that content has been released digitally.
Alongside the base versions of each physical edition, Limited Run Games is also releasing a Collector’s Edition for each platform. While these editions cost significantly more than the base game, they include tons of extras such as a poster, the game’s soundtrack, a SteelBook case, and much more. While some folks on Twitter have taken issue with Standard Edition’s price of $39.99 (as opposed to the $13.49 you can spend on Steam to preorder the game digitally), Limited Run Games has reiterated that the physical edition will include of all the paid DLC.
PixelJunk Monsters 2 will release digitally for PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC on May 25th, 2018. Preorders for PixelJunk Monsters 2‘s physical release will go live on Limited Run’s website this Friday, May 18th at 10:00 am Eastern time.
